A long-sleeved shirt in heavy 19-momme mulberry silk satin, with a little stretch so it moves when you do. Soft pointed collar, buttoned cuffs, a curved hem to tuck in.

Silk, fit and care

Fabric: 19-momme stretch satin, about 93% mulberry silk and 7% spandex (from the maker's test report).

Fit: shaped through the body with long sleeves. It runs small, so go by the measurements rather than your usual letter.

Length: 62.5–65.5 cm from the shoulder (24.6–25.8 in), long enough to tuck in.

Care: gently hand wash in clear water with a silk or wool detergent. No soap or washing powder, and no long soaking.

How do I find my size?

Measure around the fullest part of your bust. M fits up to about 90 cm, L 94 cm, XL 98 cm and XXL 102 cm. This is our guide, based on the maker's chest measurements. The cut runs small, so go by the numbers rather than your usual letter.

Is it 100% silk?

No. The maker's test report lists about 93% mulberry silk and 7% spandex. The spandex is what gives it some stretch.

What does 19 momme mean?

Momme is how silk is weighed. Blouses are often 12 to 16 momme, so 19 is noticeably heavier and less see-through. In white, you may still want a nude layer under it.

How do I wash it?

Gently by hand in clear water with a silk or wool detergent, without soap, washing powder or long soaking.
